While she handles her mother and the mafia princes, Archie and Hiram have a quick office meeting. She’s having a lot of fun with this idea, and when Hermione expresses displeasure at how Veronica brushes off all her suitors in the dining room, she glibly tells her mother that she’ll be doing things her own way, thankyouverymuch. Clair bait-and-switch ransom ploy has reached the ears of the mobsters Hiram “used to” (hmm…) run with, so the five families are all sending their sons to court the “rare mafia princess.” Archie’s face says, is this real?, but his mouth stays shut as Veronica explains that her antics have made her parents the most desirable allies around.
